<em>I say that A best represents the equation.</em>

<em>The reason I say this is because the equation (y= x + 15)  can be explained like this.</em>

<em>y= Total amount of candy (in this case since it's based on A)</em>

<em>x= Amount found (normally would be called earned)</em>

<em>15= starting amount (aka initial value)</em>

<em>So since each student started with 15 you would add that on to X= the total amount found. Then after that the total value (y) would have been represented by the equation X + 15.</em>

<em>All in all A best represents the equation Y= X + 15.</em>

<em>Hope this helps.</em>

What is the constant of proportionality between y and x in the graph?
KatRina [158]

Answer:

y=3x

Step-by-step explanation:

y=kx, where k is constant

3y, 1x...so 3y = 1x

check: looking at the graph at 4.5y, 1.5x where y and x intersect...

4.5=3(1.5)

3 x 1.5 = 4.5

How do you solve the equation -7/8k=21
loris [4]
- \frac{7}{8} k = 21

First, simplify \frac{7}{8} k to \frac{7k}{8} / Your problem should look like: -\frac{7k}{8} = 21
Second, multiply both sides by 8. / Your problem should look like: -7k = 167
Third, divide both sides by -7. / Your problem should look like: k = \frac{168}{-7}
Fourth, simplify \frac{168}{-7} to \frac{168}{7} / Your problem should look like: k = - \frac{168}{7}
Fifth, simplify \frac{168}{7} to 24. / Your problem should look like: k = -24

Answer: k = -24
