To figure out the slope, which is always a constant, you simply figure out the average displacement using the points we already know. This is described by the equation y2-y1/x2-x1. Let's use the ordered pairs (-3, 2) and (-1, 8) to figure this out.
8-2/-1-(-3) = 6/2 = 3
Another method you could use is to graph the points and figure out how many units y has to go up for every x over, or the "rise over run"
