so

3x+2y=22----------1

The total cost to rent 5 chairs and 6 tables is $60

so

5x+6y=60---------2

the system of equation is

3x+2y=22----------1X 6

5x+6y=60---------2X 2

 18x+12y= 132

- 10x+12y=120

8x+0y= 12

8x= 12

divide both sides by 8

x= 12/8

x=$1.5

put x= 1.5 in 2

5(1.5)+6y=60---------2

7.5+6y=60

6y=60-7.5

6y=52.5

divide both sides by 6

y= 52.5/6

y=$8.75
