As the once famed British Empire and French Empire collapsed, countries in Africa sparked independence movements in radical ways, such as communism. As you know, communism oppresses the people, and there was a counter revolution, and vice versa. This has been a vicious cycle in African nations, which makes democracy pretty hard to thrive.
