Compare an oxygen particle to a water particle. In your answer , include describing how they are different and similar.
Naddik [55]

Answer:

An oxygen molecule consists of two oxygen (o2) atoms bound together and a water molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom (h20). H20 has a higher evaporation temperature than oxygen therefore it stays a liquid at room temperature unlike oxygen. Both have oxygen atoms.

For a solution of H2SO4, determine the van\'t Hoff factor assuming 0% ionization and 100% ionization
Aleks [24]
The van't Hoff factor is the ratio between the amount of particles produced when a substance is dissolved and the amount of substance being dissolved. If ionization is 0 percent then it would mean that the substance do not dissociate into particles so the van't Hoff factor would be 1. However, when the percent ionization is 100%, then it fully dissociates into ions. For H2SO4 at 100% ionization, the vant hoff factor should be three, two hydrogen ions and one sulfate ion.

What is the barometric pressure exerted in pascals (Pa) of a column of decane (density = 0.7300 g/cm3) 636.2 mm in height?
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

4551.37 Pascals

Explanation:

The pressure refers to the force exerted by a substance per unit area.

The pressure is liquid is calculated by;

P = height × density × gravitational acceleration

In this case;

Height = 636.2 mm

Density = 0.7300 g/cm³

g = 9.8 N/kg

We need to convert mm to m and g/cm³ to kg/m³

Therefore;

Height = 636.2 mm ÷1000

           = 0.6362 m

Density = 0.73 g/cm³ × 1000 kg/m³

             = 730 kg/m³

Then, we can calculate the pressure;

Pressure = 0.6362 m × 730 kg/m³ × 9.8 N/kg

              = 4551.3748 pascals

               = 4551.37 Pascals

Therefore, the pressure of the column of decane is 4551.37 Pascals

Determine the percentage composition (by mass) of oxygen in NH4NO3.
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

60%

Explanation:

M(NH4NO3) = 2*14 +4*1 +3*16 = 80 g/mol

M(3O) = 3*16 = 48 g/mol

(48/80) *100 % =60% oxygen by mass.
