Answer:

b = $5

s = $6

Step-by-step explanation:

this can be solved using simultaneous equation

s = streamers

b = balloons

either of the 3 equations can be used to determine the price of the items

11b + 6s = 91 equation 1

15b + 4s = 99 equation 2

multiply equation 1 by 4 and equation 2 by 6

44b + 24s = 364 eqn 3

90b + 24s = 594 eqn 4

subtract equation 3 from 4

230 = 46b

b = 5

substitute for b in eqn 1

55 + 6s = 91

s = 6

Mr.gomez’ cherry tree grew 12 inches in 3/4 of a year. At that rate how much would it grow in 1 year
Karolina [17]

12/3=4

4 inches per 1/4 of the year.

4x4=16

Therefore it would grow 16 inches in an year.

A system of two equations contains one quadratic equation and one linear equation. the quadratic system of the equation is y=x^2
ruslelena [56]
Suppose the line is y=mx+b
when x=3, y=15, so 15=3m+b
when x=-1, y=-13, so -13=-m+b
solve the system of these two equation, you get m=7, b=-6
so the linear equation is y=7x-6

What is the following qoutient? 3√8/4√6
kogti [31]

Answer:

3                     sqrt(3)

-----------    or  -----------

2 sqrt(3)            2

Step-by-step explanation:

3 sqrt(8)

-----------------

4 sqrt(6)

3 sqrt(4*2)

-----------------

4 sqrt(3*2)

We know that sqrt(ab) = sqrt(a) sqrt(b)

3 sqrt(4) sqrt(2)

------------------------

4 sqrt(3) sqrt(2)

Canceling the sqrt(2) and sqrt(4) is 2

3*2

----------

4 sqrt(3)

3

-----------

2 sqrt(3)

We can simplify the answer be multiplying by sqrt(3)/sqrt(3)

3                 sqrt(3)

The management of a large store has 1,600 feet of fencing to fence in a rectangular storage yard using the building as one side
LiRa [457]

Answer:

The largest area of the yard is = 320000 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

Management  has 1600 ft of fencing

They are going to build  a rectangular storage (using a building wall as one of the side)

We will find the largest possible yard

Lets call

y the largest side of the rectangle

x the smaller side of the rectangle

Then we have:

Area of rectangle      A = x*y

Perimeter of the rectangle ( notice one side will be of wall)

P = 1600 ft       P = 2x + y       y = P -  2x    y = 1600-2x

Then

A(x) = x * (1600- 2x)      A(x) = 1600*x - 2x²

So     A´(x)  = 1600 - 4x        A´(x) =0      1600 - 4x =0      x = 400 ft

and  y = (1600-2*x)     ⇒   y  = 800 ft

The largest yard is =  x * y   = 400*800 = 320000 ft²
