Answer:

-3 million dollars

Explanation:

we have EVA = economic value added

to ge the EVA, we use this formula :

(operating return on the assets - cost of the total capital) multiplied by the total assets

total assets = 100 million

operating return = 12 percent

cost of capital = 15 percent

the EVA = 12% - 15% * 100000000

= -0.03 * 100000000

= -3,000,000 dollars

b. The loss of the value of the shareholder is happening even though the firm is earning ROI that is more than the average firm in the industry.

How much total depreciation and amortization expense did Patnode record during 2015?
Oxana [17]

Answer:

d. $5,000

Explanation:

Patnode's information is missing, so I looked it up. I found the balance sheet for 2014 and 2015. Hope that it is the same question:

total depreciation expense for 2015 = change in accumulated depreciation (2015 - 2014) + change in accumulated amortization (2015 - 2014) = ($3,000 - $0) + ($3,000 - $1,000) = $3,000 + $2,000 = $5,000

Stores such as T. J. Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, and Marshalls buy manufacturers' seconds, overruns, returns, and off-season
Rama09 [41]

Answer: off price retailers

Explanation: In simple words, it refers to the retailers that sells high quality products at relatively lower prices than market. The key to their business structure is the discount they offer as the majority of product they sell are of second hand quality or are off seasoned.

They procure material directly from the suppliers in the form of scrap etc and then sells it to retailer at heavy discounts. Hence from the above we can conclude that the correct answer is off price retailers.

Why would a large crop surplus be a problem for farmers? A. Surpluses are destroyed by the government. B. Surpluses drive down p
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

The answer is b. Surpluses drive down prices

Explanation:

If you have a large volume of crops, it would not drive up the price simply because there is not a lot of demand for the crop. In that sense, both c and d (even though d is relevant to the equipment) are incorrect. If there is a lot of surplus, farmers will have to lower their prices in order to sell it. They lose in profit which is why large crop surplus are a problem for farmers.

Use goal seek to answer this question. All else equals, to have a net income of 20,000, the COGS margin percentage must be _____
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

Use goal seek to answer this question. All else equals, to have a net income of 20,000, the COGS margin percentage must be 40%, and the gross profit must be $17,250.

Explanation:

The income statement is missing, so I looked it up and the information given was:

  • Revenue 100,000
  • COGS 40,000
  • Gross Profit 60,000
  • Salaries
  • Marketing
  • Rent
  • Earnings Before Tax 23,000
  • Income Tax 25%
  • Net Income ?

Since COGS are$40,000 and total sales are $100,000, the COGS margin percentage = 40,000 / 100,000 = 40%

Since earnings before taxes are $23,000 and taxes are 25%, then net income = $23,000 x (1 - 25%) = $23,000 x 75% = $17,250

Tomas would like to know whether his new business will be profitable, how much financing he will need, and whether he will have
Crank

Answer:

Pro forma financial statements

Explanation:

The term pro forma financial statements refers to a type of financial statement which estimates future financial results. It doesn't follow the GAAP, instead it is designed to focus on specific figures about a company's expected earnings. Although pro forma financials are only expected financial statements, it is still illegal to mislead investors using them.

By preparing a pro forma financial statement, Tomas will be able to estimate if his new business will be profitable or not, approximately how much financing he will need and estimate the future cash flows of his project.
