Answer:

It came in the spring of 1871, at the trial of three blacks charged with inciting arson in the town. Almost everyone came to the courtroom well armed, as Mississippians had been doing for years. This time shots rang out, killing the white Republican judge and several black spectators. The crowd surged forward, chasing down one defendant, whose body they riddled with bullets, and hurling another from the roof. ("When this failed to kill him," a witness reported, "his throat was cut.") For the next three days, local Klansmen rampaged through Meridian, murdering "all the leading colored men of the town with one or two exceptions." Despite frantic pleas for help, federal troops in Mississippi did not arrive in time. When the slaughter finally ended, more than twenty-five blacks were dead. So, too, was Republican rule in this hill country town.(42)

Walter Michel was a revolutionary psychologist, whose specialty was personality theory. The social-cognitive perspective of a personality is a theory that emphasizes cognitive processes such as judgment and thinking in personality development. Mischel was most famous for the marshmallow test, by whom, if you put a child in front of the marshallow and tell him he will get two marshmallows if he can resist eating while you leave the room. His experiment was the delays of satisfaction over the years, and he presented the idea of having specific characteristics inside us, which are stable and consistent, and which will determine our life in the future. According to Michel, this pattern of behavior should make psychologists more cautious about emphasizing  the consistency of personal traits.

Vlad [161]

Answer:

The container analogy is too static.

Explanation:

The WM or the Working memory may be defined as a cognitive system with some limited capacity which can hold information for a short period of time or temporarily. Working memory is very important for reasoning and also the guidance of the decision-making as well as behavior.

In the cognitive system, the recent effect is always associated with the working memory.

Working memory is always associated with the storage container which can store memories for short time. But this analogy is very much static as the working memory can more capable than simply the short term storage.

Just to let you know, this is not a S.S (Social Studies) question. But, instead of just giving the answer.. I'm going to explain. What are the five senses? Sight, Hearing, Smell, Taste, and Touch.

Now let's start with forming an answer:

As she comes close to the babies face, the baby becomes more physically and facially active. The sense that the peppermint activated was Smell. Why? When the candy got closer to the babies face, she smelt it. Because of the strong smell a peppermint has, the baby reacted.
