Which sentence most clearly shows internal conflict?

English
1 answer:
Daniel [21]3 years ago
6 0

The sentence that most clearly shows internal conflict is B. Frank wants to buy a house, but he is afraid to take on a mortgage.

An internal conflict is a struggle which the mind of a character has to deal with. In other words, a character that has an internal conflict must solve an emotional problem. Sentence B. shows that Frank is struggling with his own mind. In this case, the internal conflict has arisen from doubt (whether to take on a mortgage or not), which, at the same time, causes fear. On the other hand, the other options do not present mental struggles. They present external conflicts, that is to say conflicts between a character and something or someone that is outside his/her mind.

Story Cinderella
dlinn [17]
The story makes it very clear who is considered a “good” person and who is portrayed as otherwise. The good people are easily identifiable by observing their characteristics; Cinderella, the main character, is a perfect example. Despite her rough upbringing she was still kind hearted and did the best she could manage, and just wanted to have fun and be able to share the same experiences of other girls (by going to be ball, being free.) She was also incredibly patient and gentle. The prince is also a good character, still accepting Cinderella even after learning she wasn’t the rich, classy woman she had originally appeared to be and continuously searching for her throughout the story because he had fallen in love with her. I believe that Cinderella and the prince are two examples of good characters in this story, but the tale presents many examples of both good and bad characteristics.

Why do you think the two rivers that start so close together flow to such different locations
harkovskaia [24]

I'm answering the literal and metaphorical question.

Say you have two rivers that are parallel and symmetrical, any little disturbance or alteration to the direction of one of will gradually make them end up in very different locations (may take years, but will happen 100%). Also, the geography of the land probably will not be the same, further making the destination of the two rivers very distant.

Now imagine two friends that have grown up in a married, middle class, family, they have went to the same school, had similar career goals, and hang out with the same friends. Friend one plans to be a nurse and the other a veterinarian. They start out the same, but as the education there're career(s) require, the farther they end up. Life is unpredictable and NOTHING is ever guaranteed.

Hope this enlightens people, this is my first answer.
