The formula for LA is \pi (radius*slant height). Right now we only know the height but we need to know the slant height so we can set up a triangle inside the cone (look at attached image). The slant height is the hypotenuse. Solving for it we get 2 \sqrt{290}. Now we can plug everything we have into the formula: \pi (22*2 \sqrt{290} ). This means LA is 44 \pi \sqrt{290} but that's not one of the options even if i turn it into a decimal so recheck my work but I'm pretty sure this is the answer.

Plot the reflection of point A across the x-axis. What are the coordinates of the reflection of point A across the x-axis? What
UNO [17]
You got the dot on the right spot, the coordinates are (1.5,2.5) because you reflected across the x axis so the y coordinate changed. The distance between them are 5, because you move half of a unit two times which equals 1 whole unit and 4 whole units. 4+1=5

A classmate tells you, “Finding the coordinates of a midpoint is easy. You just find the averages.” Is there any truth to it? Ex
Lapatulllka [165]
Your classmate is correct, though this is not explicitly what the midpoint formula is necessarily set out to do. If one is given two sets of endpoints, one can discover the midpoint by finding the mean distance between these two endpoints. For example, if two points are 10 and 2, all you need do to find the midpoint is add the two poles and divide them by 2 (that is, find the average). The same applies for coordinate geometry, except with additional variables, the formula to find the coordinates of a midpoint is: M= (x1+x2/2, y1+y2/2). Thus, two averages (of both the x coordinates and y coordinates are taken). Your classmate is correct if two endpoints are given, think of a line with two poles, the middle of this line must be the midpoint.
