Answer:

28/55

Step-by-step explanation:

total no of beads are 11

red beads are 7

and white beads are 4

no of ways to take 2 beads from 11 beads are 11c2

that is( 11*10)/2=55

no of ways to take 1 red bead from 7 is 7c1 that is 7

no of ways to take 1 white bead from 4 is 4c1 is that is 4

required probability is( 7*4)/55=28/55

A TV report conducted a survey of 947 people in New York City and found that 35% of the population believe that the Yankees will
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

35\% represents the sample proportion of the population

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The sample size is  n  = 947

   The proportion of the population that believes that the Yankees will miss the playoffs this year is    k = 35\% = 0.35

From the question we are told the confidence level is  97%

   The lower limit of the confidence level is a = 28%

    The upper limit of the  b = 42%

Generally the sample proportion of this population is mathematically represented as

         \^ p = \frac{a+ b}{2}

=>      \^ p = \frac{28 + 42 }{2}

=>      \^ p = 35\%

Hence  35\% represents the sample proportion

Mr and mrs Jackson have 14 grandchildren. Find the ratio of girls to boys if there are four more girls than boys
natulia [17]

Answer:

5 boys to 9 girls

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x = the number of boys

Boys = x

Girls = x + 4

x + (x + 4) = 14

2x + 4 = 14

2x = 10

x = 5

This means that there are 5 boys. Since girls = x + 4, 5 + 4 = 9. There are 5 boys and 9 girls.

I hope this helped and please mark me as brainliest!
