First you would fill in what you know which would be you so you would write 3x+(x+4)=16 so then you would combine like terms so you would get 4x+4=16 then you would subtract 4 from both sides giving you 4x=12 then divide be 4 on both sides and you would get x=3 for your answer

Where the y is on the bottom put the one on top in for y So 3x+1(x+4)=16 The answer is 3 I believe because 16 minus 4 equals 12 12 divided by 4 equals 3

Two lines intersect to form a linear pair with equal measures. One angle has the measure 9x° and the other angle has the measure
VARVARA [1.3K]
My understanding is that the 2 angles add up to 180 degrees, so 9x+9y-54=180. Also, 9x=90 and 9y-54=90. 9x=90, so x=10. 9y=90+54. 9y=144. y=16.

Can someone please help me understand this
Lorico [155]

Answer:

No, because one x-value corresponds to two different y-values.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given a function where x represents an input of a particular value, which gives an output for that particular value inputted as defined by the function, if the function is true and valid, a particular value of input should not give us different values of output.

Thus, from the table given, at x = 5, we have y = 3.

Also, at x = 5, we have y = 2.

Here, one x-value is given us two different y-values. This is not true if a function. We cannot regard the table given as representing a function.

Therefore, the answer is:

No, because one x-value corresponds to two different y-values.
