Answer:

Acceleration, a = -0.5 m/s²

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Initial velocity = 72 km/h

Final velocity = 18 km/h

Time = 10 seconds

To find the acceleration of the car;

Conversion:

72 km/h to m/s = 72*1000/3600 = 20m/s

18 km/h to m/s = 18*1000/3600 = 5 m/s

In physics, acceleration can be defined as the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time.

This simply means that, acceleration is given by the subtraction of initial velocity from the final velocity all over time.

Hence, if we subtract the initial velocity from the final velocity and divide that by the time, we can calculate an object’s acceleration.

Mathematically, acceleration is given by the equation;

Acceleration (a) = \frac{final \; velocity  -  initial \; velocity}{time}

Substituting into the equation;

a = \frac{5  - 20}{10}

a = \frac{-5}{10}

Acceleration, a = -0.5 m/s²

Therefore, the car is decelerating.

Explanation:

A.

Using the wave equation:

v = d/t

Where,

v = velocity

d = distance

= 23.5 km

= 23500 m

t = time

= 2m 30s = 150 s

v = 23500/150

= 156.7 m/s

B.

From the calculated value above, it can be seen that the velocity of the heat blast is >>> than the velocity of sound above sea level.

While hammering a nail, you put in 30 Joules of work. The hammer then puts out 10 J of
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

C    Don't worry if you thought it was D. I almost answered that.

Explanation:

Remark

You can get this just by learning the vocabulary.

Efficiency = Work Out / Work In * 100%

Work in = 30J      That's you swinging the hammer.

Work out = 10 J    That's how much of the hammer's work gets to the nail.

Efficiency = (10/30)*100

Efficiency = 1/3 * 100

Efficiency = 33%

Suppose that the electric potential outside a living cell is higher than that inside the cell by 0.0677 V. How much work is done
Lina20 [59]

Answer: Recall that

Work (W) = - e × ∆V

Where

Charge of electron= 1.6 × 10^ -19 c

And from the question we were given change in potential as = -0.0677V

Work = - (1.6 × 10^-19) × (-0.0677)

Work= 1.0832 × 10^-20J

Therefore the work done by the electric force when a sodium ion (charge = +e) moves from the outside to the inside is 1.0832×10^-20

A 25kg mass is suspended at the end of a horizontal, massless rope that extends from a wall on the left and from the end of a se
patriot [66]
<h2>Answer:20.97g N,32.63g N</h2>

Explanation:

We consider the forces at the knot.

The vertical forces are

T_{2}Sin(50^{0}}) is the vertical component of tension T_{2} at the knot.

-25g is the weight of the mass 25Kg acting downwards.

The horizontal forces are

-T_{1} is the tension in the rope acting left.

T_{2}Cos(50^{0}) is the horizontal component of tension T_{2} acting towards right.

Since the knot has no mass,it is always in equilibrium.

So,the sum of forces acting on it will be zero.

Balancing vertical forces gives,

T_{2}Sin(50^{0}})-25g=0

T_{2}=32.63gN

Balancing horizontal forces gives,

T_{2}Cos(50^{0})-T_{1}=0

T_{1}=32.63g\times Cos(50^{0})=20.97gN
