A. Increased spending on the military. Republicans support tax breaks for the rich, want small government, and think minimum wage is ridiculous. (Not my personal views)
1) The nation followed the precedent set by Washington until 1940. This unwritten rule was made official by the 22 Amendment. The first and only president to have more than two terms was Franklin D. Roosevelt who ran for the third term because of the WW2.
2. In essence the US followed this doctrine until the formation of NATO in 1949 as this was the first permanent military alliance the US has entered. Before this, the US did play a role on a global level periodically but always returned to isolationism. The first case of US intervention was the War of 1812.
3. George Washington believed that the unity of the states is of the utmost importance and he saw political parties as a threat to that unity. He feared that the political parties would divide the people and turn them against one another. That is why he warned the people of the US about them.
4.This is related to the previous questions as Washington feared and warned the future generations of Americans about excessive debt ,foreign wars and a radical party system. He feared mostly that the party in power would be radicalized and thus sought revenge on the other party. It is the duty of "wise people" to stop zealous development of the political parties.
5. In 1862 this address was read to boost the morale of the nation during the dark time for the country that was the Civil War. After that it was read annually and it is a wisdom for the ages and it is read in honor of Washington's birthday. The House of Representatives abandoned the reading in 1984 but the readings in the Senate continue to this day.

Although this isn't quite confirmed, it is considered that Germanic wars are the longest-lasting wars in history. They lasted for 800 years, starting from 220 BCE until 580 AD, and were fought between Romans and various Germanic tribes. However, if you need a war in the newer history, the second longest war is known as Reconquista, which is a war fought between Christian Kingdoms and the Muslim Moors, and lasted for about 770 years.
