A quality analyst wants to construct a control chart for determining whether three machines, all producing the same product, are

in control with regard to a particular quality variable. Accordingly, he sampled four units of output from each machine, with the following results.
Machine 1 Measirement 17 15 15 17
Machine 2 Measurement 16 25 18 25
Machine 3 Measurement 23 24 23 22

It is known from previous experience that the standard deviation of a typical machine is measured as 2.1067. What are the Mean chart three-sigma upper and lower control limits?

a. 22 and 18
b. 23.16 and 16.84
c. 22.29 and 16.71
d. 23.5 and 16.5
e. 24 and 16

Answer:

b. 23.16 and 16.84

Explanation:

The computation is shown below:

As we know that

The Mean of each and every sample (X-bar) is

= Sum of observations  Number of observations

And,

Range (R) = (Highest observation - Lowest observation)

For Machine 1:

X-bar = (17 + 15 + 15 + 17) ÷ 4

= 16

R = (17 - 15)

= 2

For Machine 2:

X-bar = (16 + 25 + 18 + 25) ÷ 4

= 21

R = (25 - 16)

= 9

For Machine 3:

X-bar = (23 + 24 + 23 + 22) ÷ 4

= 23

R = (24 - 22)

= 2

Now, the Mean of means (X-double bar) is determined as follows

X-double bar = Sum of X-bar ÷ Number of samples

 = (16 + 21 + 23) ÷ 3

= 20

The Mean of ranges (R-bar) is determined as follows

R-bar = Sum of R ÷ Number of samples

= (2 + 9 + 2) ÷  3

= 4.33

with reference to the table of constants for determining the 3-sigma upper and lower control limits,

 n = 4  that represent the Number of units sampled

A2 = 0.729,

Now

UCL = X-double bar + (A2 × R-bar)

= 20 + (0.729 × 4.33)

= 23.16

LCL = X-double bar - (A2 × R-bar)

 = 20 - (0.729 × 4.33)

= 16.84

In some simple models of trade, a country may choose to specialize in the production of a single good. which is not an argument
LekaFEV [45]

An argument that is not against specializing in a single good in the real world is that specialization in a single good makes dumping easier and more effective.

If a country specializes in a single good, less waste will be produced and it can be dumped easily at one place and can be used or recycled more easily than to dump several different kinds of goods as they will need different technologies and to segregate them will be a hard job to do.

Countries improve their production of the commodity in which they specialize. There are many benefits to consumers if a country does so as specialization lowers the opportunity cost of production, increasing global production and lowering prices. These reduced pricing and increased supply benefit consumers.

Imagine that a local water company issued $10,000 ten-year bond at an interest rate of 6%. You are thinking about buying this bo
mylen [45]

Answer:

Explanation:

The $10,000 is the face value of the bond. Using a financial calculator, input the following to calculate the price at a year before maturity; i.e. at year 9;

Time to maturity; N = 10 - 9 = 1

Annual interest rate; I/Y = 9%

Annual coupon payment; PMT = 0

Face value of the bond; FV = 10,000

then compute present value ; CPT PV = $9,174.31

Therefore, you will pay less than $10,000 for the bond and the price would be  as above $9,174.31

First, regardless of the strategy, _____ storage and _____ storage must be secured.
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is offsite and onsite.

Explanation:

When implementing Business Continuity the preservation of company data comes first.

Business Continuity Plan/Strategies are those measures that a company puts in place to ensure that regardless of the threat, and or disruption to the existing model that allows them to provide goods or services, (e.g. tsunamis or earthquakes, riots and civil unrests, compulsory government curfew) they can continue to function, reach their customers and remain operational.

The first rule of Business Continuity Plan is to protect all information assets. Off-site data or information refer to those information and or data that are remotely stored. That is, they are secured far away from the physical location of the business such as a data or server farm, cloud storage etc.

Onsite data storage refers to storing data on the premises or site of the business. Some fo the tools used are Hard Disk Drivers, Solid State Drives, DVDs etc.

Cheers!
