Answer:

The magnitude of the force exerted by the biceps f_b_i_c_e_p_s is 218.38N

The magnitude of the force exerted by the elbow f_e_l_b_o_w is 194.37N

Explanation:

Firstly , lets calculate the magnitude of force exerted by biceps f_b_i_c_e_p_s -

Mass of the forearm=

m_f=1.50kg

Mass of the ball =

m_b_a_l_l=950g

 = 0.950kg

so, weight of the forearm=

w_f=m_f g

weight of the ball=

w_b_a_l_l=m_b_a_l_l g

Now , balancing torque about the elbow , we have-

F_b_i_c_e_p_s\times d_b_i_c_e_p_s= w_f\times\frac{d_b_a_l_l}{2} + w_b_a_l_l\times d_b_a_l_l

(here , distance of the bicep is 2.50cm = 0.025m and distance of the ball is 36cm= 0.36m)

Now putting the given values in the formula -

F_b_i_c_e_p_s\times 0.025= 0.95\times9.8\times\frac{0.36}{2} +1.50\times 0.36

F_b_i_c_e_p_s=218.38N

Now, lets calculate the force exerted by elbow F_e_l_b_o_w -

Balancing the vertical forces

F_b_i_c_e_p_s=F_e_l_b_o_w+w_f+w_b_a_l_l

F_e_l_b_o_w = 218.38-(1.00\times9.8)-(0.95\times9.8)

F_e_l_b_o_w=194.37N

A bird is flying over a field. What will most likely happen if a toxin causes the
myrzilka [38]

Answer:

B. The bird will stop flying because it will quickly use up its remaining

energy.

Explanation:

This is because the mitochondria is known as the power house of cells. Oxidative phosphorylation takes place in this organelle and it involves the conversion of ADP to ATP through the hydrogen ions(protons).

When the hydrogen ion channel is blocked, energy production in cells stop.

This is why the bird will stop flying as it would have used up its remaining energy and won’t have a new one to use to continue flying.

Explain the role of bacteria in the nitrogen cycle
Oksanka [162]

Bacteria is important because this bacteria binds hydrogen molecules with the gaseous nitrogen to form ammonia in the soil. During assimilation, or when plants take up nitrates from the soil, bacteria aid in the process with the plants in making ammonia. Animal wastes is also a major place where bacteria thrives and produces ammonia. The process in which assimilation occurs in plants, and then bacteria converts the nitrates to ammonia is called ammonification. From the conversion of ammonia to nitrites, bacteria also aids in this process called nitrification. The nitrifying bacteria mostly present in soils, oxidize ammonia into nitrites, and from nitrites to nitrates.

Finally, the process of denitrification also has bacteria present to aid in converting nitrates back into a gaseous form of nitrogen in the atmosphere.

Is biotechnology always associated with genetic engineering? Explain your answer.
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

Yes, the biotechnology are associated with the genetic engineering as, the genetic engineering are the direct modification or manipulation of the organism which are using the biotechnology.

Basically, it the set of technologies which are used to modify the genetic cells including the transferring of the genes across the boundary to produced the organism. And with the help of biotechnology, new DNA are obtain by copy the genetic material by using the methods of DNA.
