Is this what you mean...?

If the coordinates of a triangle are given, we can find the type of triangle by measuring the distance between the points.. For eg, Let A(x1,y1) , B(x2,y2) , and C(x3,y3) be the 3 coordinates of a triangle… Now, To find the type of triangle we now find the distance between the points as follows… Distance between the points AB, Distance between the points AC, And, distance between the points BC…

Now, if:

AB=AC=BC , then the triangle is an equilateral triangle..

AB=AC≠BC / AB=BC≠AC / AC=BC≠AB , then the triangle is an isosceles triangle..

AB≠AC≠BC, then the triangle is a scalene triangle…

This is how we find the type of triangle using the 3 given coordinates…

P.S.- The formula for finding the distance between 2 points is as follows..

Let us consider 2 points, A(x1,y1) and B(x2,y2)..

Thus, the distance between AB is given by the formula

AB=√{(x1-x2)²+(y1-y2)²}.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

bai :>

Temka [501]

Answer:

a) 52.5 ft. b)40.1ft c)12.5ft d) 72.6

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The height of the lighthouse is 84ft, and the angle of elevation is 58 degrees.

tan58=84/x

find x by dividing 84 by tan58, and you get 52.5ft.

b) do the same thing, except 131 is in the base of the right triangle shape. That being said, do tan17=x/131.

multiply 131 by tan17, and you get x=40.1 feet.

c) This question wants you to find the length of the slide, (basically the hypotenuse).

given the angle to be 46, do sin46=9/x

since sin is opp/hyp

9/sin46= 12.5ft

d) Find the angle of elevation by using inverse tan given the base to be 5, and the height to be 16ft.

tan^-1=(16/5)=theta

x=72.6 hope this helps!

Answer:

Distributive Property, Subtraction Property of Equality, Subtraction Property of Equality, Division Property of Equality

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you need to distribute. Next, you subtract on both sides. Then, you subtract again. Finally, you divide.

Consider this figure of a hexagon.
notsponge [240]
A)
It looks like the [irregular] hexagon has 3 rectangles and 2 triangles within it.
So let's exclude the triangular corners on bottom left and top right for now.
First we have a large rectangle covering most of the upper left of the polygon. 20 ft × 7 ft = 140 sq.ft.
Now we have a rectangle on the bottom right. The width is 11 ft, so take the 7 away from that, 4 ft. × 14 ft. on bottom. 4 ft × 14 ft = 56 sq.ft.
The last small rectangle fits on the right between the 2 other rectangles. It is 24-20 on top/bottom × 7-6 right/left. 4 ft × 1 ft = 4 sq.ft.
Now for the triangles: bottom left is 11-7 × 24-14 = 4 ft × 10 ft. 1/2bh = 1/2×10×4 = 20 sq.ft.
Top right is 24-20 × 11-5 = 4 ft × 6 ft. 1/2bh = 1/2×4×6 = 12 sq.ft.

B)
Add them all together for the total area (A):
A = 140 + 56 + 4 + 20 + 12 = 140+60+32
= 232 sq.ft.

Hope that explains it well enough! ;)
