The power P (in watts) generated by a windmill that has efficiency E is given by the formula P = 0.31ED^2V^3, where D is the dia

meter (in feet) of the windmill blades and V is the wind velocity (in ft/sec). Approximate the wind velocity necessary to generate 30,000 watts if E = 41% and D = 17

You can try to solve by plugging in the values that they gave you

P = 30,000
E = 41% but change it to a decimal and it becomes .41
D = 17
V = ? the value you are trying to find

so......

using the formula: P = 0.31ED^2V^3

30,000 = (0.31)(0.41)(17^2)(V^3)
30,000 = (36.7319)(V^3)
30,000/36.7319 = V^3
816.7287834 = V^3
 you have to get the cubic root
∛816.7287834
your answer should be higher than 9 but lower than 10
 with whatever number you get plug it into the formula again and then check to see if your answer comes out to 30,000

hope this helps :)

Jerry King is a server in a restaurant that pays a salary of $43 per day. He also averages tips of 18% of his total gross food o
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

His total gross pay for the week is $588.25.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Jarry has a salary of $43 per day and he worked for 4 days.

Thus, the salary of 4 days is:

4 × $43= $172

The average tips is 18% of his total gross food orders.

Last week he had total food orders of $2,312.5. Therefore, the total tips he received is:

2312.5 \times(\frac{18}{100})

2312.5 \times(0.18)

416.25

Total tips he received is $416.25.

His total gross pay for the week = The salary of 4 days + Total tips he received.

His total gross pay for the week = $172 + $416.25

His total gross pay for the week = $588.25

Hence, his total gross pay for the week is $588.25.

How do you tell if a line is parallel perpendicular or neither?
cluponka [151]
You can tell that a line is parallel if the lines can go on forever without crossing or intersecting. A line is perpendicular when the lines intersect at a right angle. If the slopes are either equal or negative reciprocals, they cannot be parallel or perpendicular.

Hope this helps you!
