Answer:

The maintenance electrician takes 287.555555566667 hours to to rewire all the motors

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Calculate all of the minutes for all the numbers.

It takes you 26.6666667 minutes to rewire 2/3 of a motor.

It takes you 160 minutes to rewire 4 motors.

It takes you 266.666667 to rewire 6 2/3 motors

It takes you 7,200 minutes to rewire 180 motors

It takes you 9,600 minutes to rewire 240 motors

2. Add all of the minutes together.

26.666667 + 160 + 266.666667 + 7,200 + 9,600 = 17253.333334

It takes you 17253.333334 minutes to rewire 431.333333 motors

3. Convert minutes to hours

17253.333334/60 = 287.555555566667

It takes you 287.555555566667 hours to rewire all the motors

Which of the following is equivalent to x4 - y4? Select all that apply.
IgorC [24]

Answer: (x^2-y^2) (x^2+y^2) and (x-y)(x+y)(x^2+y^2)

Step-by-step explanation:

(x2 − y2) (x2 + y2)

Expand (x2 − y2) (x2 + y2) using the FOIL Method.

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 (x^2 + y^2 ) − y^2 (x^2 + y )

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 x^2 +x^2 y^2 - y^2 (x^2 y^2 )

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 x^2 + x^2 y^2 - y^2 x^2- y^2 y^2

Combine the opposite terms in x^2 x^2 + x^2 y^2 - y^2 x^2 - y^2 y^2.

Reorder the factors in the terms x^2 y^2 and − x^2 y^2.

x^2 x^2+ x^2 y^2 - x^2 y^2 - y^2 y^2

Subtract 2 2 from 2 2.

x^2 x^2+ 0 - y^2 y^2

Add 2 2 and 0.

x2 x2- y2 y2

Simplify each term.

Multiply x2 by x2 by adding the exponents.

x^4 − y^2y^2

x^4 − y^4

(x-y)(x+y)(x^2+y^2)

(x − y) (x + y) (x^2 + y^2)

Expand (x − y) (x + y) using the FOIL Method.

(x ⋅ x + xy − yx − y ⋅ y) (x^2 + y^2)

Combine the opposite terms in x ⋅ x + xy − yx − y ⋅ y.

(x ⋅ x − y ⋅ y) (x^2 + y^2)

(x^2 − y^2) (x^2 + y^2)

Expand (x^2 − y^2) (x^2 + y^2) using the FOIL Method.

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 (x^2 + y^2) − y^2 (x^2 + y^2)

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 x^2 + x^2y^2 - y^2 (x^2 + y^2)

Apply the distributive property.

x^2 x^2 + x^2 y^2 - y^2 x^2 - y^2 y ^2

Combine the opposite terms in x^2x^2 + x^2y^2 − y^2x^2 − y^2y^2.

x^2x^2 − y^2y^2

x^4 − y^4

Can someone please help me and explain this to me ! Thanks !
Korolek [52]
Imagine first splitting 6 wholes up into fourths. That means that, for each whole (each 1) in 6, we're creating 4 equal slices. This gives us 4 x 6 = 24 total slices, which we call fourths. How many groups of 3 fourths (3/4) can you make out of those 24 fourths (24/4)? If we throw aside the label fourths for a minute, in general, if we have 24 things, how many groups of 3 things can we make out of those? Well, our answer there would just be 24 ÷ 3 = 8 groups.

The same thing applies to fourths. If we have 24/4, and we divide it by 3/4, we get 24 ÷ 3 = 8 groups again, so our answer is 8 3/4-pound packages.
