prohojiy [21]
<span>A person who is ill with fever will experience an increased basal metabolic rate. The body’s metabolism contains all of the chemical and biological process needed for the conversion of food into energy and the use of it like digestion and excretion. So when we become sick, the metabolism speeds up to fight the illness.

Aside from having potent anti-inflammatory effects, glucocorticoids also promote homeostasis of which system?
Rashid [163]

Along with anti-inflammatory effects, glucocorticoids also promote homeostasis  in T lymphocytes.

<h3>what are the role of glucocorticoid?</h3>

Glucocorticoids are steroid hormones have  anti-inflammatory effects. as well as glucose homeostasis activity.

The hormones secreted from the cortex regulate glucose metabolism, synthesis in the adrenal cortex.

It promote gluconeogenesis in liver, but in skeletal muscle and white adipose tissue decrease glucose uptake, modulate the function of pancreatic α and β cells and help in to regulation of glucagon and insulin.

It also affect on glucose homeostasis to preserve plasma glucose for brain during stress.

Hence, glucocorticoids also promote homeostasis  in T lymphocytes.

Which examples describe how a plant might meet the challenge of getting and using energy? Choose all answers that are correct. A
SpyIntel [72]
<span>Assume: Energy = Sunlight.

grow lamps, etc.

A is definitely correct: Plants and trees that need maximum light MUST be able to grow as tall or taller than the other plants/trees around them. Plants that are more efficient at producing food (through photosynthesis) can live in the shadows of other plants. B doesnt involve getting or using energy. C is the function of food storage. The Energy was used to make the carbohydrates up in the leaves. D This should read New Leaves on the tree... If the tree was not deciduous, the leaves would stay on the tree and continue to perform photosynthesis throughout the year - as long as there was ample light. A is definitely correct and D is probably a correct answer also. FYI - Photosynthesis takes water from the plant, CO2 from the air and Energy from the Sunlight. Chloroplasts (the Green in the green leaves and stems) combine the molecules and light energy to produce 3 byproducts: O2, H2O, and Carbohydrates (mainly sugar or C12H22O11). The carbohydrates are then transported by the plants capillary system (by means of the Phloem which flows down to the roots) to the roots where it is converted as needed to be stored as some form of sugar or starch for use later in plant growth (leaves, stems and roots).</span>
