Answer:

(1)..................let no. be x and y

x+ y= 16

x-y= 3

adding both eqn= x+y+x-y=16+3

2x=19

x= 19/2

now..19/2+y=16

y=16-19/2= 13/2

(2).....let red balls weight = x...blue balls weight= y

3x+2y=66g....bag 1

x+4y=72g....bag 2

by egn 2...x= 72-4y

puuting x value in eqn 1= 3(72-4y)+2y=66

216-12y+2y=66

y= 15 g...weight of a blue ball

now...x= 72-4y

x=72-4×15=12g...weight of a red ball

Answer:

6.5 and 9.5, red weighs 12g and blue weighs 15g

Step-by-step explanation:

1:

Difference of 3 means we have x and x+3

They sum to 16 so we have x + x + 3 = 16

2x=13

x=6.5

So we have 6.5 and 9.5

2:

Red marbles weigh r grams and blue marbles weigh b grams.

3r+2b=66

r+4b=72

Double the top equation to get

6r+4b=132

r+4b=72

Calculate the difference

(6r+4b)-(r+4b)=132-72

5r=60

r=12

r+4b=72 so 12+4b=72

4b=60

b=15

You have $9000 with which to build a rectangular enclosure with fencing. The fencing material costs $30 per meter. You also want
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:i explained it

Step-by-step explanation:

The total cost of the fence will be 30(2L + 2W) + 2*25 W <= 9000

60L + 110W <= 9000

60 L <= 9000 - 110W

L <= 150 - 11/6 W

For a given width, the maximum area will correspond to the maximum length, so we can just go ahead and say L = 150 - 11/6 W

A = LW = (150 - 11/6 W) W

A = 150 W - 11/6 W2

A' = 150 - 11/3 W = 0

150 = 11/3 W

W = 450/11
