Answer:

C. It takes millions of years to form.

Explanation:

Oil, natural gas, and coal are collectively called fossil fuels. Fossil fuels were formed within the Earth from dead plants and animals over millions of years—hence the name “fossil” fuels. They are found in underground layers of rock and sediment. Pressure and heat worked together to transform the plant and animal remains into crude oil (also known as petroleum), coal, and natural gas.

Which of the following statements describes what occurs with energy as a result of the law of conservation of energy? the amount
tia_tia [17]

The right option is; the amount of energy before a process occurs is equal to the energy after the process occur.

The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but it can only be transferred or converted from one form of energy to another. The law explains that the total amount of energy of an isolated system remains the same, unless there is additional energy from the outside.

Explain how the thermostat in your house uses a negative feedback system to maintain your home's temperature.
daser333 [38]

Given what we know, we can say that the home thermostat system does in fact work using a negative feedback loop,

What is a negative feedback loop?

A negative feedback loop is a regulatory system in which a product is produced until there is too much of it, the presence of this increased amount of product then acts as a stimulus to decrease the production.

The home thermostat is a negative feedback loop in that it:

 • First generates heat.
 • Then the heat reaches the desired temperature.
 • More heat is produced.
 • The thermostat notices the temperature is above the intended value.
 • It stops producing heat.

Therefore, we can confirm that since the thermostat uses a sensor to detect too much heat in the room and uses that to regulate the production of said heat, the home thermostat system does in fact work using a negative feedback loop.
