As all of it is multiplication, the way you multiply will not matter.

so  5 x (2 x 4) can be (5 x 2) x 4, as it generates the same answer: 40

hope this helps

From the given slopes of the lines, identify whether the two lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither.
vivado [14]

Answer:

Neither

Step-by-step explanation:

To be parallel the lines have to have the same slope. In this case the slopes are not the same.

To be perpendicular, the lines have to have negative reciprocal slopes.

For example, if one slope is 6, then its negative reciprocal i (- 1/6). We do not have this also.

So, the lines are no parallel and no perpendicular.

enrollment in the ski/snowboard club increased by 30% this year. there are now 182 students in the club. how many students were
user100 [1]
Increasing by 30% results in multiplication by 130/100, or 13/10.  Setting the original amount of students to x, we write the equation:

13x/10=182

We multiply by 10 for a result of:

13x=1820

Dividing by 13, we have:

x=140

Thus, 140 students were in the club last year.

Two thirds times a number plus fifteen totals nine. what is the number?
kondor19780726 [428]

Let x represent the number:

2/3(x)+15=9

2/3(x)= -6

x= -6/(2/3)

x= -6*(3/2)

x= -9
