Answer:

Explanation:

CH₃OH + CO = CH₃COOH .

32 g 28 g 60 g

CH₃OH = 15 g ;  CO = 10 g

32 g of CH₃OH reacts with 28 g of CO

15 g of CH₃OH reacts with 28 x 15 / 32 g of CO

= 13.125 g of CO .

CO given = 10 g , so CO is the limiting reagent .

28 g of CO reacts with CH₃OH to produce 60 g of CH₃COOH

10 g of CO reacts with CH₃OH to produce 60 x 10 / 28 g of CH₃COOH

CH₃COOH produced = 600 / 28 g = 21.42 g .

Convert 0.550 \({\rm atm}\) of pressure to its equivalent in millimeters of mercury. express the pressure numerically in millime
Naya [18.7K]
First you will need to know the conversion between atm and mm Hg. It is 1 atm = 760 mm Hg Then you need to solve for the mm Hg (0.550 atm) * (760 mm Hg/1 atm) = x mm Hg x = 418 mm Hg

What is the mass ratio of aluminum to oxygen in aluminum oxide, Al2O3?
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

9 : 8

Explanation:

Aluminum oxide has the following formula Al₂O₃.

Next, we shall determine the mass of Al and O₂ in Al₂O₃. This can be obtained as follow:

Mass of Al in Al₂O₃ = 2 × 27 = 54 g

Mass of O₂ in Al₂O₃ = 3 × 16 = 48 g

Finally, we shall determine the mass ratio of Al and O₂. This can be obtained as follow:

Mass of Al = 54 g

Mass of O₂ = 48 g

Mass of Al : Mass of O₂ = 54 : 48

Mass of Al : Mass of O₂ = 54 / 48

Mass of Al : Mass of O₂ = 9 / 8

Mass of Al : Mass of O₂ = 9 : 8

Therefore, the mass ratio of Al and O₂ in Al₂O₃ is 9 : 8
