Mathematics

Step-by-step explanation:

The one that you highlighted is correct. The rest of the problems equal

16x {}^{10}

While the third equation equal

2 {x}^{7}  + 14 {x}^{7}   =  16 {x}^{7}

I would bring the x value to the 7th power instead of the 4th using the power of product rule.

So I would make the equation look like

x {}^{7} ( {2x}^{3}  +  {14x}^{3} ) which equal

16x^10

Insert two numbers between 54 and 2 so that the four numbers are in geometric sequence.
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

2,6,18,54

How I got this answer:

Each term after the first is found by multiplying by a fixed, non-zero number called a common ratio.

step by step:

2×3=6

6×3=18

18×3=54

The common ratio is 3.

HELP 99 PTS=50 PTS Theresa has two brothers, Paul and Steve, who are both the same height. Paul says he is inches shorter than t
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

Theresa is 58.82 in tall

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x----------> Paul and Steve heights

y----------> Theresa height

we know that

1 1/2-------> 3/2---> 1.5

1 1/3-------> 4/3----> 1.33

 Paul says he is 16 inches shorter than 1 1/2 times Theresa's height

x=1.5y-16-------> equation 1

Steve says he's 6 inches shorter than 1 1/3 times Theresa's height

x=1.33y-6------> equation 2

equals 1 and 2

1.5y-16=1.33y-6

1.5y-1.33y=-6+16

0.17y=10----------> y=58.82 in

x=1.5y-16------> 1.5*(58.82)-16------> x=72.24 in

the answer is

Theresa is 58.82 in tall

Example 2
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer: (a) 314.2cm², (b) 157.1cm², (c) 78.55cm² (e) 6.77

Step-by-step explanation: (a)  Area of the circle with radius of 10 cm = πr²

                                                                          = 3.142 × 10 × 10

                                                                          = 3.142 × 100

                                                                          = 314.2cm²

The formula                                                       = πr²

(b)  Area of the half of a circle known as semicircle

                                                                         = πr²/2

                                                                         = 3.142 ×10 × 10/2

                                                                         = 3.142 × 50

                                                                         = 157.1cm²

The formula                                                      = πr²/2

(c)  A quarter of a circle is called quadrant

                                                            = πr²/4

                                                            = 3.142 × 10 × 10/4

                                                            = 314.2/4

                                                            = 78.55cm²

The formula is written thus = πr²/4, which implies that the circle is divided into 4 unit

(d) The conjecture about how to determine the area of the sector is

Formula of a sector = ∅/360(πr²)

<u>Information</u>

The arc  cant be 60°, therefore information incomplete.

(e) Area of the sector with the angle AOB of 60° = 24.

To find the radius of the angle, make v the subject of the formula from the formula.

Sector area = πr²∅/360°

equate formula to 24.

Therefore πr²∅/360° = 24

Multiply through by360° to make it a linear expression

It now becomes πr²∅ =24× 360°

                                                     r² = 24  x 360/π × ∅°

                                                     r² = 24 × 360° /3.142 × 60°

                                                     r² = 3,640/188.52

                                                     r² = 45.8

To find r , we take the square root of both side by applying laws of indicies

                                    Therefore r = √45 .8

                                                      r = 6.77

(f)   General formula = ∅°/360° × (πr²)

angle substended at centre by the arc = x°

assuming the radius of the circle = ycm, Therefore,  area of the sector = { ∅°/360° × πy² }
