2. This treaty was negotiated by James Gadsen and was also known as the Treaty of Mesilla. This treaty is a 29,670-square-mile region that was bought by the U.S for 10 million. It also later became part of Arizona and New Mexico.

3. Benito Pablo Juárez García was a Mexican lawyer and politician who served as a president through 1858 and died in 1872.

4. Francisco Ignacio Madero González was a Mexican writer. Who served as the 37th president of Mexico. He was assassinated in 1913.

5. The Hacienda is in the colonies of the Spanish Empire. Haciendas were plantations, mines or factories.
