Ada and Elijah have decided to do an experiment testing how sunlight affects plant growth. The students choose the same type of

plants, soil, pots and amount of water they give the plants. They also make sure each plant is put in their designated area for the same amount of time each day. One plant is placed outside; one in front of a window that only gets light for 1/2 the day, and one in a closet. The students collect data every day for two weeks. Their results show that the plant outside grew the most and the plant in the closet had the least amount of growth.

How does the genotype of a bacterium determine its phenotype? Use the terms gene, mRNA, ribosome, and polypeptide in your answer
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
Typically, the genotype is encoded in the DNA by the gene; this gene in the DNA will then undergo the process of transcription and the information in the gene will be transcripted into mRNA. The mRNA will then undergo the process of translation and the information in the mRNA will  be translated into a polypeptide chiefly by the action of ribosome. Thus, bacteria with different genotypes will have different protein which automatically means that they will have different phenotypes.

How does sulfur in the air get moved to the soil.
Andrew [12]

Answer:

Sulfur can also fall directly from the atmosphere in a process called fallout. Also, the weathering of sulfur-containing rocks releases sulfur into the soil. These rocks originate from ocean sediments that are moved to land by the geologic uplifting of ocean sediments.
