So the formula for this is for every inch of width, you multiply by 2 to get the length.

4×2=8
7×2=14
8×2=16 or 16÷2=8

I would say it's 3/8 of a cup because if you multiply 3/4 by 2 it would be 6/8. It's the same amount but just a different measurement. Now just take 3 away from 6/8 and you have 3/8 which is half of 3/4.
