Music is quite close to the feeling of thought, and often it can transcend into the emotional state or feelings of the participating listener. If this is significant to oneself in the audience, that then is the actual value of music. The work, effort, and dedication of all involved in bringing the musical art into the concert, film or whatever programmatic scenario, there is the significance of contributing individuals consciously working towards the goal of getting the production in place in the most fitting way possible.

Explanation:

It is a very easy thing to take the music on a sub-conscious level as though it is “just there” - and oddly, when that happens, the canon is unbroken and the illusion is working perfectly.
