5 0

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

for the first point (0, -5) let’s say 0 = X1 and -5 = Y1

for the second point (-3, 4) let’s say -3 = X2 and 4 = Y2

to find m (the slope) we set this up:

(4-(-5))/(-3-0)

9/-3

slope is -3

what we have for the equation so far is

y = -3x + b

we have two points that the line has to go thru and to find b we’ll plug in one of those points into the equation

let’s use (0, -5)

-5 = -3(0) + b

-5 = 0 + b

b = -5

**if you used the other point b will still be -5

when we plug b back into the equation we get

y = -3x -5

hope this helps

Olegator [25]

Answer:

f(-3) = -16

Step-by-step explanation:

Given piecewise function is,

f(x) = 5x - 1       If x < -2

        x + 3       If x ≥ -2

We have to find the value of he function when x = -3

Since x = -3 is less than x = -2,

Piece of the function to be considered,

f(x) = 5x - 1

f(-3) = 5(-3) - 1

f(-3) = -16

amm1812

Answer:

<em>X ball bearings will be made in 1 hour and 20 minutes</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Proportions </u>

The proportions give us an important tool to easily solve common problems of any type. We know that:

Company ABC can make X ball bearings in 3 hours.

Company DEF can make X ball bearings in 4 hours.

Company GHI can make X ball bearings in 6 hours.

In one hour, each company can make

ABC: X/3 ball bearings

DEF: X/4 ball bearings

GHI: X/6 ball bearings

Working together, they can make

\displaystyle \frac{X}{3}+\frac{X}{4}+\frac{X}{6}

ball bearings. Operating

\displaystyle \frac{4X+3X+2X}{12}=\frac{9X}{12}=\frac{3X}{4}

If they can make 3/4 of a ball bearing in one hour, then one complete ball bearing will need

\displaystyle \frac{4}{3} hours to complete. It's equivalent to 1 1/3 hours or 1 hour and 20 minutes

X ball bearings will be made in 1 hour and 20 minutes

1/2 plus 1/5 plus 2/6 plus 1/8
mamaluj [8]

Need to find the common denominator for the fractions which is 120.

Multiply by 60 for 1/6 . Multiply by 24 for 1/5. Multiply by 20 for 2/6. Multiply by 15 for 1/8.

(1)(60)/(2)(60)+(1)(24)/)5)(24)+(2)(20)/(6)(20)+(1)(15)+(8)(15)

= 60/120+18/120+40/120+15/120

= 78/120+55/120

= 139/120 or in mixed number : 1 19/120

Answer: 139/120 , 1 19/120
