YOUR is a parallelogram

RUO=120°

RUO=RYO. {opposite angles in parallelogram are equal}

therefore...RYO=120°

RYS + RYO =180°. {linear pairs}

120°+RYO= 180°

therefore..RYO=60°

in ∆RSY

√SRY+RYS+YSR=180°. {sum of angles in triangle add up to 180°}

50°+60°+YSR=180°

110°+YSR=180°

:YSR=70°

Answer:

<u>THEREFORE</u><u> </u><u>YSR</u><u> </u><u>=</u><u> </u><u>70</u><u>°</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

RUO = 120°

Therefore,

RYO = 120°

(opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal)

Now,

RYO + RYS = 180° (linear pair of angles)

120° + RYS = 180°

RYS = 180° - 120°

RYS = 60°

Now,

By Angle sum property of a Triangle,

SRY + RYS + YSR = 180°

50° + 60° + YSR = 180°

110° + YSR = 180°

YSR = 180° - 110°

YSR = 70°

Please help me out!! Solve the equation. y-6/y=5<br> A.y=1,5<br> B.y=-9,1<br> C.y=2,3<br> D.y=-1,6
geniusboy [140]
Answer: y = -1, y = 6 (choice D)

===========================================================

Work Shown:

y - (6/y) = 5
y*(y - (6/y)) = y*5 <<--- see note 1 below
y^2 - 6 = 5y
y^2 - 5y - 6 = 0
(y+1)(y-6) = 0 <<--- see note 2 below
y+1 = 0 or y-6 = 0
y = -1 or y = 6 which are the two answers

note 1: I multiplied both sides by y to clear out the fraction (the LCD is y)

note 2: I factored the left side by asking myself "what two numbers multiply to -6 and add to +5?" the answer to that question is +1 and -6 which helps lead to the factorization. An alternative route instead factoring is to use the quadratic formula

Which expression would be easier to simplify if you used the associative
rodikova [14]

Answer:

<em>A . 0.85 + (0.15 +(-3)) = -2</em>

<em>B . [(-3)+(-3)]+(-3) = - 9</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>:-

<em>Associative  property with addition</em>

<em>(a+(b+c)) = (a+b) + c</em>

A)

Given 0.85 + (0.15 +(-3)) = (0.85 +0.15)+(-3)

                                       = 1 - 3

                                       = -2

B)  Given [(-3)+(-3)]+(-3) = ( (-3)+[( -3)+(-3))]

                                     = ( -3 +[-3-3]

                                    =  -3 -6

                                    = -9

<u><em>Final answer:</em></u>-

<em>A . 0.85 + (0.15 +(-3)) = -2</em>

<em>B . [(-3)+(-3)]+(-3) = - 9</em>
