Answer:

Double taxation.

Explanation:

Taxation can be defined as the involuntary or compulsory fees levied on individuals or business entities by the government to generate revenues used for funding public institutions and activities.

There are three (3) types of taxation used by the government, these are;

1. Progressive taxation: it involves charging individuals having higher incomes a higher percentage of their total income.

- For instance, John pays 30% on $70,000 and Joyce pays 10% on $45.000.

2. Proportional taxation: it involves charging both lower and higher income earners equally in proportion to their income.

- For instance, John pays 20% on $50,000 and Joyce pays 20% on $36,000.

3. Regressive taxation: it involves charging individuals with low incomes a higher percentage of their total income and vice-versa.

- For instance, John pays 15% on $60,000 and Joyce pays 20% on $36,000.

In this scenario, a corporation's earnings are taxed as corporate earnings and as dividends to the stockholders. This is known as double taxation.

Double taxation can be defined as a phenomenon in which an individual or business entity pays income tax twice on the same income source such as corporate earnings and as dividends to their stockholders.

International trade a. raises the standard of living for importing countries and lowers it for exporting countries. b. raises th
adoni [48]

International trade raises the standard of living in all trading countries.

Explanation:

International trade is an inter country exchange of goods and services. Globally, exporting offers people and countries the ability to be exposed to goods and services that are not available in their nations, or that would cost more domestically.

Global trade allows countries to make more effective use of their resources–whether labor, technology or money. International trade usually enables countries to concentrate on those markets in which they can be most competitive and effective. In this way, international trade generally raises the standard of living of both producers and consumers.

A major reason why it is difficult to lower the barriers to free trade is A. the loss of jobs without any gain of jobs from free
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

B) the uneven distribution of gains and losses from free trade.

Explanation:

One of the most important reasons why governments impose trade barriers is to protect domestic jobs (and domestic industries). We are part of a society (country), and society's most important component is people, not money. Generally the economic gains of free trade are larger than the economic losses, but the economic losses hurt the most.

Imagine if no trade barriers actually existed, how many millions of jobs would be lost in the US. Trade barriers are nothing new, the current president didn't invent them. He just incinerated them.

How does a leader tell the people that 10 or 20 million must lose their jobs and probably will not be able to find any similar jobs in the future just because the rest of society will benefit from cheaper products. The lives of 20 million households (50-80 million people) would be destroyed, while 280 million people would benefit.

The amount of harm done to the people that lose their jobs is much greater than any individual benefit.
