Answer: C

m = slope

m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

2 points:
(2, -4) x1 = 2 and y1 = -4
(0, 4) x2 = 0 and y2 = 4

m = (4 - (-4)) / (0- 2)

m = 8 / -2

m = -4

Equation of the line is : y = mx + b

So we got...

y = -4x + b

Then we can use any of the two points given to solve for b. I’m going to use (0, 4).

y = -4x + b

4 = -4(0) + b

4 = 0 + b

4 = b

Therefore the equation of the line is
y = -4x + 4

What happens to the value of the expression 2t/t as t decreases
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

  it stays the same until t=0, where it is undefined

Step-by-step explanation:

2t/t = 2 . . . . when t ≠ 0

2t/t = undefined when t = 0.

The value of t can increase or decrease and the value of the ratio remains the same. The value has a "hole" at t=0, where it is undefined. Otherwise, its value is always 2.

The diameter of a circle is 6 in. Find its area to the nearest tenth.
Marrrta [24]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

The area formula for a Circle is:

A = \pi r^2

Diameter is equal to the radius times 2.

<u>So, divide the diameter to get the radius.</u>

6 divided by 2 equals 3.

<u>Now, plug it into the formula.</u>

A = \pi (3)^{2}

A = 9\pi

Plug this into your calculator by multiplying 9 by pi.

<u>We get the answer to be 28.3 when rounded to the nearest tenth.</u>

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line that passes through point (-3, 8) is y = -2/3x + 6. What is the point-
Elena-2011 [213]

y = \stackrel{\stackrel{m}{\downarrow }}{-\cfrac{2}{3}}x+6\qquad \impliedby \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} slope-intercept~form\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y=\underset{y-intercept}{\stackrel{slope\qquad }{\stackrel{\downarrow }{m}x+\underset{\uparrow }{b}}} \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}

so hmmm then we know the slope of that line is -2/3, so we're really looking for the point-slope form of a line with a slope of -2/3 and that passes through (-3 , 8)

(\stackrel{x_1}{-3}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{8})\hspace{10em} \stackrel{slope}{m} ~=~ -\cfrac{2}{3} \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{8}=\stackrel{m}{-\cfrac{2}{3}}(x-\stackrel{x_1}{(-3)})\implies y-8=-\cfrac{2}{3}(x+3)
