2) Even though horses & burro aren't native to America; their ancestors, along with cattle, came to the States with the Spanish explorers 500 years ago, with some escaping to the wilds, herds began to develop and adapt.

Since herding Wild burros for food was not as profitable as wild horses, they were turned to the mining industry, becoming the main work animal of the industry, since their small size made them perfect for working in narrow mine tunnels.

3) Velma B. Johnston, was known as “Wild Horse Annie” because she was the main defender of wild horses and burros being slaughtered for pet food. Thanks to her, Congress passed a bill to prohibit planes and trucks from rounding up the animals in 1959.

5) Wild Deer and wild elk have no direct competition for food, they might overlap but they coexist because one feeds on shrubs and the other feeds on grass.

6) Bears have been feeding from dumpsters and campgrounds and will continue to do so for one reason: it's easy. Since they are free to roam, and they have develop a taste for human food, and the availability and storage is easy to access, then that is a problem.

7) Yellowstone National Park recently reintroduced native wolves to the park as a method to re-balance the natural biome of the area, since they were the natural predator of rodents and similar wildlife, that at the moment were being controlled by traps or poisons.

8) When cattle overgraze, ranchers tend to burn the land to make it fertile again and re-grass it, causing an overtime erosion.

9) Cattle and horse ranching requires a lot of water so the Department of Fish & Wildlife wants to repair said damage recovering waterways & allow fish to reestablish their populations, for this they have requested a 5 year period of no cattle or horses in the area.

10) Environmentalists agree that native wildlife should have preference on federal land to protect diversity & manage land, in fact this is included in the Federal Land Policy & Management Act
