Answer:

About 11.62 by 11.62

A square had equal sides so you find the square root of 135 and that is rounded to 11.62.

So the perimeter would be about 46. But 46.48 exactly.

Tacoma's population in 2000 was about 200 thousand, and has been growing by about 8% each year. If this continues, what will Tac
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

Tacoma's population in 2014 will be 587,439 people

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The equation of a exponential growth function  is given by the formula

y=a(1+r)^x

where

y is Tacoma's population in thousand

x is the number of years since 2000

r is the rate of change

a is the initial value

we have

a=200\\r=8\%=8/100=0.08

substitute

y=200(1+0.08)^x

y=200(1.08)^x

what will Tacoma's population be in 2014?

Find the value of x

x=2014-2000=14\ years

substitute the value of x

y=200(1.08)^{14}=587.439\ thousand

therefore

Tacoma's population in 2014 will be 587,439 people

2. How many square yards of carpet will be needed for a 21 ft by 15 ft room?
ipn [44]

Answer:

The answer to your question is: 35 yd²

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this problem, just find the data, the formula, substitute the values in the formula and find the result.

Data

Square yards = ?

Length = 21 ft

Width = 15 ft

Formula

Area of a rectangle = length x width

Substitution

Area of a rectangle = 21 ft x 15 ft

Area of a rectangle = 315 ft²

Area of a rectangle = square yards of carpet

Finally, convert ft² to yd²

315 ft² = 35 yd²

Result

Square yards of carpet = 35 yt²
