Answer:

the time of fall of the stone is 15 s.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

height through which the stone was dropped, h = 3,600 ft

the initial velocity of the stone, u = 0

The time of fall of the stone is calculated using the following kinematic equation;

h = ut + ¹/₂gt²

h = 0 + ¹/₂gt²

h = ¹/₂gt²

where;

g is acceleration due to gravity = 32.17 ft/s²

t = \sqrt{\frac{2h}{g} } \\\\t = \sqrt{\frac{2\times 3,600 \ ft}{32.17 \ ft/s^2} }\\\\t =14.96 \ s = 15 \ s

Therefore, the time of fall of the stone is 15 s.

Identify the volume of the composite figure. HELP PLEASE!!
Ilya [14]

Answer:

Vol. of the composite figure is 189 m³

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the volume of the larger figure by mult. together its 3 dimensions:

V = (9 m)(8 m)(3 m) = 216 m³.

Next, find the volume of the "notch," which is (3 m)³, or 27 m³.

Finally, subtract the "notch" volume from the 216 m³ volume found earlier:

216 m³ - 27 m³ = 189 m³

Whats the slope of (-3,-2) and (5,4)
Sphinxa [80]
Hello,

Slope is rise/run, or y/x, and if you are given two pairs of points, this is the equation needed:  (y2-y1) over (x2-x1).

Let me plug in the numbers: (4-(-2) over 5-(-3). And that is 6/8, which then is simplified to 3/4. So the slope of those two given points is 3/4. We do not divide or simplify it into a decimal because slope is a fraction, so we leave 3/4 as it is.

Hope this helps, and that my explanation is not too confusing!

crimeas [40]

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume we are simplifying

1) -6k+7k = k

2) 12r-8-12 = 12r-20

3) n-10+9n-3 = 10n-13

4) -4x-10x = -14x
