The purpose of this line summarizes the general intention of the whole poem by Taylor Mali where he exposes how new generations use language in an almost incongruent form and how they are not self-aware neither self-assured of themselves and the way they follow tendencies in communication more than actually convey a message.

The correct answer is C To mock the manner of speaking that the writer is criticizing.

The other options are not correct because they don't show the critical aspect of this piece of work which is totally focused on the way we communicate to each other.
