A math class has 24 scholars. Each scholar earns 2 HERO points for coming to class and turning in homework on time. The function

H(s) = 2s describes the total number of HERO points awarded where s represents the number of scholars. Michael says 31 is a possible output for this scenario. Do you agree or disagree? EXPLAIN for full points.

Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

No, it's not because 6 x 4 = 24 and 2 x 3 = 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order for it to be equivalent, the simplified ratio needs to be multiplied by the same number, meaning because 6 x 4 = 24, the next number needs to be the product of 2 x 4, not 2 x 3.

The amount of water inside each of these things is proportional to the volume of the tank the tropical fish tank has a volume of
k0ka [10]

Answer:

1920 gallons of water

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question; the amount of water is proportional to volume of the tank

i.e amount of water = volume of the tank

in a tropical fish;

3000 gallons of water = 12.5 m³     ----- Equation (1)

However, in the  measurement of  shark tank, we have

length = 20cm = 0.2 meters

width = 4 meters

Height = 10 meters

How many gallons of water can the shark tank hold?

From the measurement of  shark tank, we can calculate the volume;

The volume of the tank = Length × width × height

Volume of the tank = 0.2 × 4 × 10 = 8 m³

since, the amount of water is proportional to volume of the tank

y ( Gallons of water ) = 8 m³    -------- Equation (2)

Equating equation 1 and 2; we have:

3000 gallons of water = 12.5 m³

y ( Gallons of water ) = 8 m³

y ( Gallons of water ) ×  12.5 m³  = 3000 gallons of water × 8 m³

y ( Gallons of water )  = \frac{3000 gallons of water * 8 m^3  }{12.5m^3}

y ( Gallons of water )  = \frac{24000}{12.5}

y ( Gallons of water )  = 1920 gallons of water

Thus, the shark tank can hold 1920 gallons of water
