Answer:

a) The value of n is 81.30.

b) The value of n is 81.

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The value of n is the ratio of the mass of the Earth to the mass of the Moon. That is:

n = \frac{5.972\times 10^{24}\,kg}{7.346\times 10^{22}\,kg}

n = 81.30

The value of n is 81.30.

b) If n is a integer, then the result must have only two significant figures. Given the result, we must approximate to the closest integer. That is:

n = 81

The value of n is 81.

Why is the lcm of two numbers never less than the larger number?
Lady bird [3.3K]
This involves a bit of logic in thinking about what LCM actually means.

LCM is the least common multiple. A common multiple is a multiple shared by two or more numbers. And by multiple, we mean some number multiplied by successive integers; this set contains multiples of 5 {5, 10, 15, 20, 25...}. You can see that the least (or lowest) common multiple is the lowest multiple shared by two numbers. Like for 6 and 9, you have {6, 12, 18, 24...} and {9, 18...}, so LCM(6,9) = 18.

Now, if an LCM must be shared by both numbers, and to get a multiple of the largest number, you have to multiply by an integer greater than or equal to 1, then the LCM of two numbers can never be less than the larger of the twi numbers. Generally, if x and y are positive real numbers, and x is greater than y, LCM(x,y) \leq x.

In a carnival drawing, a green ticket wins $1, a yellow ticket wins $5, and a blue ticket wins $10. There are 100 green tickets,
bagirrra123 [75]
First, you add up the non-$10 winning cars so 100+25=125.
then you take 5:125 because you want the winning 10$ against not winning. the to get 1 you divide both numbert by 5 to get 1 on the left. so you get 1:25.
hope i helped:)
