Should foot binding have been outlawed or should it have been
White raven [17]

Answer:

Footbinding has been compared to other ways to “perfect” the female body. Similar to corsets, they helped cause permanent damage and pain to those who engaged in them. This tradition was seen to have caused immense

pain and torture, so it was eventually brought to an end. Foot binding also caused many deaths because of the high infection rates or because many girls just couldn't stand the pain. Many thought that it was worth deforming once self and possibly becoming disable in order to be seen as "beautiful". I believe that the Chinese Government did the right thing in banning this practice, it destroyed the lives of many girls, and further damaged the viewing of the female body.

Lincoln's election directly led to the secession of southern states and the beginning of the civil war
Leto [7]

The election of 1860 (C) was Lincoln's election, which led to the secession of southern states and the beginning of the Civil War.

The U.S. was already divided over questions like the extension of slavery. Whereas the previous Democratic presidents, James Buchanan and Franklin Pierce, defended the interests of southern slaveowners, the Republicans had risen as the main opposition party. In order to avoid secession, the Republican Party saw in Abraham Lincoln a nominee who could offer not to interfere with slavery where it already was in place, but would oppose to extend it further into the territories.

Lincoln's victory triggered declarations of secession by South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas during the winter of 1860-61. These states, fearing that the institution of slavery would be endangered, then became the Confederate States of America.

What events slowed the growth in population from 1930 to 1940
Katena32 [7]

Answer:The stock market crash of 1929 was the catalyst that brought about the Great Depression that lasted until around 1939.

Explanation:

As a result of the fall of the stock market, consumer spending decreased, industries slowed production, and unemployment rates steadily increased. Instead of people migrating to the area, people were leaving in search of work, etc. More women joined the workforce (which would’ve also had an effect due to lower marriage and birth rates).
