Use the information given below, to compare the cost of operating two different vehicles for one month (4 weeks). You are consid

ering two different cars. You drive to work, a 20 mile round trip, five days a week. Gasoline costs you $1.50 per gallon. Car A gets 28 miles per gallon, would have $300 a year in maintenance costs, and would cost you $1,500 per year to insure. Car B gets 19 miles per gallon, would have $500 a year in maintenance costs, and would cost you $1,000 per year to insure.
Costs Car A Car B

Answer:

                                                   <u>Car A </u>                             <u> Car B</u>

Gas cost per month                   $21.429                            $31.579

insurance per month                  $125                                 $83.333

maintenance per month             $25                                 $41.667

Total cost per month                  $171.429                          $156.579

Step-by-step explanation:

we have to drive 20 mile round trip, for five days a week.

that means total number of days in a month we have to drive=5×4=20 days

hence total distance we have to drive in a moth=20×20 miles=400 miles.

Cost of gasoline=$ 1.50 per gallon.

now for<u> Car A:</u>

A gets 28 miles per gallon.

⇒ A has to pay $1.50 for 28 miles

that means the amount he has to pay for 1 mile=$\dfrac{1.50}{28}

The amount he has to pay for 400 miles=$\dfrac{1.50\times 400}{28}

                                                                  =$21.429

he has to pay $300 a year in maintenance cost.

A has to pay $25 per month in maintenance.

also he has to pay $1500 a year for insurance

i.e. A has to pay $125 per month for insurance.

Total cost per month=$ (21.429+25+125)

                                   =$171.429

for <u>Car B:</u>

B gets 19 miles per gallon.

⇒ B has to pay $1.50 for 19 miles.

that means the amount he has to pay for 1 mile=$\dfrac{1.50}{19}

The amount he has to pay for 400 miles=$\dfrac{1.50\times 400}{19}

                                                                    =31.579

he has to pay $500 a year in maintenance cost.

A has to pay $41.667 per month in maintenance.

also he has to pay $1000 a year for insurance

i.e. A has to pay $83.333 per month for insurance.

Total cost per month=$ (31.579+41.667+83.333)

                                  =$156.579

Definition of mean, mode and average
Naya [18.7K]
I'm pretty sure that mean and average both mean(pun not intended) the total value of the data divided by the number of values, giving you an average.
Mode is the value that is repeated most often. For example, if your data set is 1, 3, 4, 2, 2 the mode is 2 because it is repeated twice. If there was another 3, 4, or 1 then the mode would be both values, as they both were repeated the most often.

Hope this helped :)

For their twentieth wedding anniversary, Richard and Sylvia had a party for several of their best friends. Things were going alo
kompoz [17]

Answer:

Richard is older

Step-by-step explanation:

We can set up an inequality for both statements.

Let r equal Richard's age and s equal Sylvia's age.

"I am older than my wife."

Since Richard is speaking, the inequality would look like this:

r > s

This means Richard is older than Sylvia.

"I am younger than my husband."

Since Sylvia is speaking, the inequality would look like this:

s < r

This means that Sylvia is younger than Richard.

We can flip one inequality to "see" them from the same perspective.

Let's use s < r

To make it so that we can see the relationship from Richard's perspective, flip the entire inequality.

s < r

to

r > s

The inequality from the first quote is identical to this one!

Therefore, Richard is older than Sylvia.
