Which country has been encouraged by the united states to become energy-independent from russia?
AnnZ [28]
The answer is Republic of Georgia

Russia is often described as an Energy Superpower and currently provides huge amounts of Oil and Gas to most of Europe.

Large parts of Europe are already dependent on Russian gas which is critical to survival in the harsh winters of Germany or Ukraine.

Georgia, which is an ex-Soviet country and borders Russia is also highly dependent on importing its energy needs.

After the Russia-Georgian War of South Ossetia, Georgia faced a miserable defeat and sought help from the United States both moral and economical.

One of the major policy changes suggested to Georgia was to decrease its energy dependence on Russia.

When was the exact date of the final loss of Jerusalem for European forces?
iris [78.8K]
The final loss of Jerusalem for European forces can be considered to be between 1270 and 1272. In the year 1270, Louis IX of France who lead the (arguably called) Eight crusade died on the shores of modern day Tunisia. This had effectively ended the Eight crusade and also led Henry III of England's son Edward to sail to Acre and try to reclaim the city. He was, however, unsucessful and had to return back to England. His demise marks the ending of the Ninth crusade which lasted from around 1271 to 1272. After this crusade no major attempt from Europe was made again to reclaim Jerusalem or any other city captured by the Crusaders in previous crusades.
