If two figures are similar, what can you say about them? Be specific and give at least 3 details.
Nana76 [90]

Answer: Two figures are said to be similar if they are the same shape. In more mathematical language, two figures are similar if their corresponding angles are congruent , and the ratios of the lengths of their corresponding sides are equal.

If VW is 10 cm, find the length of VR⌢. Round to the nearest hundredth (two decimal places).
Assoli18 [71]

<u>Given</u>:

Given that the length of VW is 10 cm.

The central angle is 127°

We need to determine the arc length of VR.

<u>Arc length of VR:</u>

The arc length of VR can be determined using the formula,

Arc \ length = \frac{\theta}{360}\times 2 \pi r

Substituting \theta=127 and r = 10, we get;

Arc \ length = \frac{127}{360}\times 2 (3.14)(10)

Simplifying the terms, we get;

Arc \ length = \frac{7975.6}{360}

Arc \ length = 22.154

Rounding off to the nearest hundredth, we get;

Arc \ length = 22.15

Thus, the arc length of VR is 22.15 cm

I have to find the slope and the y-intersect from these graphs. It would mean alot if someone could help with at least one of th
Sati [7]

Answer:

Alright bear with me, this is gonna be a long one.

<u>The Y INTERCEPT</u>

So the y-intercept is going to be where the line intersects the Y-AXIS. The y-axis is the vertical part of the graph with the numbers on it.

So, for the first one, the line goes through the origin which means that that the y intercept is going to be (0,0)

The next one, the line intersects the y-axis at (0,1)

Here's a tip: the y-intercept will always have 0 as it's x coordinate.

<u>The Slope</u>

Alright, the slope of a vertical line can be found using an equation. Most typically people will describe the slope as RISE/RUN meaning how many units you move up "rise" and how many units you move horizontally "run" to touch the line. Of course, it's easier when you can identify points.

So to make this a little bit easier to understand, I will show you how to use the equation to find the slope.

\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

So for this equation, what you need is two coordinates. So for the first graph, I'm going to use the points (0,0) and (1,3)

\frac{3-0}{1-0}

So we make the three y2 because it's the second y coordinate and the y1 would be 0. Same applies to the x coordinates but use the x values.

the slope for the first graph would be 3/1

<u>FOR THE SECOND GRAPH</u>

\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

Here's our equation now pick two points. I'll be using (-5,4) and (0,1)

\frac{1-4}{0-(-5)}

Don't forget that a negative-a negative = positive

which will leave you with

\frac{-3}{5}

since it can't be simplified any further, your slope is -3/5.

I hope I was able to help you understand this a bit better :)

Please Explain/Show Your Work, for each part of the question! Thank You!
mina [271]

Answer:

1. The graph represents a proportional relationship

2. 70,000 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The graph represents a proportional relationship since the graph line is straight and begins at the origin.

2. Plot 5.5 hours on the graph and it'll give you 70,000 miles

Myriah wants to use dimensional analysis to find out how many centimeters (cm) are in 1.4 meters (m). Which of these equalities
OverLord2011 [107]
I believe the correct answer from the choices listed above is the last option. The equality that will be useful for Myriah's calculation would be 100 cm = 1 m. She just needs to convert her value from meters to centimeters. A conversion factor is all she needs.
