Answer:

140

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose,

x drinks were sold for 2$

y drinks were sold for 5$

therefore, x+y = 250....( 1 )

and 2x+5y = 830......( 2 )

multiply equation ( 1 ) with 2,

2x+2y = 500......( 3 )

Subtract equation ( 3) from (2)

3y = 330

or, y = 110

so, x = 140

so, 140 drinks were sold for 2$

<em>Additional comment</em>

Even if you extend the domain to complex numbers, there are no solutions. The f(x) = |x| function always returns a positive real value, even for complex numbers.

PLS HELP ME ASAP GUYS PLEASE FOR 13 and 14 (SHOW WORK!)
Anton [14]
You can do 280/40 would give you the answer for one minute, then whatever you get, multiply be 280, that is your answer for number 14.so it would be for every one minute you ride 7 miles. so it would be 7 miles times 20 minutes because you are calculating for an hour and we already have 40 minutes, it would give you 140 miles for 20 minutes, then you add 140 +280 which would give you your answer which is 420m/hr. if you read it step by step you would be able to understand.<span />

What is the explicit rule for this geometric sequence? 4,45,425,4125,…
gregori [183]
You did not write the question correctly but I will try to answer the question according to 2 possible interpretations of your question.

Case 1:

Given the geometric sequence:

4,\  \frac{4}{5} ,\  \frac{4}{25} ,\  \frac{4}{125} ,\ .\ .\ .

Common ratio is given by r= \frac{2nd\ term}{1st\ term} = \frac{ \frac{4}{5} }{4} = \frac{1}{5}

The explicit rule of a geometric sequence is given by T_n=ar^{n-1}

Therefore, the explicit rule of the given sequence is T_n=4\left( \frac{1}{5} \right)^{n-1}\ or\ 20\left( \frac{1}{5} \right)^n

Case 2:

Given the geometric sequence:

4,\ 4\cdot5,\ 4\cdot25,\ 4\cdot125,\ .\ .\ .

Common ratio is given by r= \frac{2nd\ term}{1st\ term} = \frac{4\cdot5}{4} = 5

The explicit rule of a geometric sequence is given by T_n=ar^{n-1}

Therefore, the explicit rule of the given sequence is T_n=4(5)^{n-1}\ or\ \frac{4}{5}(5)^n
