King Leopold II treated the Congo as his personal property and exploited the country for slave labor, rubber, and ivory. The Belgian Congo was established in 1908 after the international community pressured the Belgian government to annex the country and take it out of the king's hands. Conditions in Belgian Congo improved as the Belgian government supported education and established trade. Nevertheless, the people of the Congo increased their demands for independence.

Water is one of the most powerful forces on Earth. How does the example shown here illustrate the theory of uniformitarianism?
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

The theory of uniformatrianism was proposed by James Hutton, a Scottish Geologist by profession.

This theory was a contrast proponent to the tenets of the theory of catastrophism in existence before then in the scientific circles

  The theory states that "the present is the key to the past and geologic processes occurring today have happened in the times past".

  • The theory correlates geologic processes as continuous in nature rather can punctuated situations.
  • Erosion occurring today has been changing the land surface on earth as far back into the geologic times and periods.
  • From the image, the erosional activities are still continuing today.

What TWO factors do scientists track and monitor in all types of freshwater ecosystem?
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

A: light availability

B: nutrients

Explanation:

Both nutrients and light availability affect the primary productivity of the freshwater ecosystem, therefore, scientists study both factors to track associated changes. This is because photosynthesis is driven by sunlight and nutrients availability. It is suggested that the abundance of autotrophs (e.g. phytoplanktons) in an aquatic ecosystem increases as light and nutrients availability increase. Thus, there will be more food available for secondary and tertiary consumers to feed upon. Resultantly, the aquatic environment will turn a biodiversity hotspot where many species of living organisms start dwelling. Thus, scientists mainly ecologists would focus on these two parameters at first that lead to consideration of other parameters.

We will now consider the secretions involved in fat digestion, including the organs that secrete or release them. review the lis
zhenek [66]
I cannot find the list of molecules and organs, but I gonna explain all existing lipid digestion.
First, you should know that triglycerides are not absorbable. The absorbable substances are free fatty acids, monoglycerides and cholesterol.

The main stages of lipid digestion:-Fat emulsification;
-Hydrolysis of lipids (by enzymes);
-Formation of micelles;
-Endocytosis of the micellar contents.

The enzymes responsible for lipid hydrolysis are:
lipases (pancreatic): secreted by the exocrine pancreas
colipase: secreted by the pancreas in an inactive form. Its role is to help the lipase in its activity.
cholesterol esterase: secreted by the pancreas too.
phospholipase A2: exists in the majority of the cells
