Answer:

(-1 / 4)x + y = -1.75

Step-by-step explanation:

Standard form is Ax + By = C

First I'm going to write it in point slope form, then I'm going to simplify.

Slope: (-3 + 1) / (-5 - 3) = 1 / 4

(y + 1) = 1 / 4(x - 3)

y + 1 = x / 4 - 3 / 4

(-1 / 4)x + y = -1.75

This might be wrong because I don't really like to use standard form.

Is this a geometric sequence: 256, 192, 144, 108.
lozanna [386]

Answer:

Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

For GP, Tn = ar^(n-1), where a = first term and r = common ratio, again,

r = Tn/Tn-1

All we will do is to verify

if T2/T1 = T3/T2

 192/256 = 144/192

 0.75       =  0.75

Conclusion:

 As T2/T1 = T3/T2 which is 0.75  =  0.75, therefore, It is a Geometric Progression (GP)

If p() = x2 - 1 and q(x) - 5(x-1), which expression is equivalent to (p - q)(x)?
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

\text{If p(x) = x2 - 1 and q(x) = 5(x - 1), the expression which is equivalent to} \text{ (p - q)(x) is (x2 - 1) - 5(x - 1).}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • p(x) = 2x2 - 1
  • q(x) = 3(x - 1)

To find:

  • (p - q)(x)

We know:

  • (p - q)(x) = p(x) - q(x)

Substitute

  • (2x^2 - 1) - 3(x - 1)

\text{Therefore, the expression equivalent to (p - q)(x) is (2x2 - 1) - 3(x - 1).}
