Alexander Hamilton was a Federalist. Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic Republican. There are many differences between the 2. Jefferson opposed Hamilton's concept that the depts. of the revolutions should be shared equally by the states ---- Jefferson proposed that each state be responsible only for its own dept.
