If you had lived during this era, would you have joined in the revivals of the Great Awakening? Why or why not?
lana [24]

Answer:

Answered Below

Explanation:

According to and article published by HISTORY in 2019 "The Great Awakening was a religious revival that impacted the English colonies in America during the 1730s and 1740s. The movement came at a time when the idea of secular rationalism was being emphasized, and passion for religion had grown stale. ... The result was a renewed dedication toward religion."

With this in mind, you will have to decide whether or not you would partake to answer the question. But for the sake of giving an example, personally I would answer no, at the revival lead to the discrediting and persecution of revolutionary scientists of the time.

How does body ritual among the nacirema help you understand historical context ? What have you learned from reading it ?
BartSMP [9]
It is important to find the perspective of studied cultures instead of making conclusions based on your current perspective.

Context requires a historian to think about the conditions, values, and norms of a time period in which an event occurs.

In the Body Ritual of the Nacirema, it would be easy to judge the behaviors of the group when coming from a 21st century, culture bias. However, upon realizing it is about America (it is spelled backwards), you can see how the behaviors can be explained when put into context.
