Break the problem down slowly

What info can we gather?

The woman says it rusts, so that is her main statement.

She uses her statement to make an assumption that because it rusts, it is not stainless steel.

Since she assumes it is not stainless steel, she thinks she did not get what she paid for, thus, her conclusion is that she should get a refund.

The best I could figure out with d is that the whole set is not stainless steel, so she should get a refund for the whole thing. The account says that some of the utensils have rusted, not all.

Hope this helps!

A car can travel 120 km in 2 hours. How long will it take the car to travel 300 km?
kakasveta [241]

We first find out time taken to travel for just 1 km

2hrs is equivalent to 120 minutes

120 km  = 120 min

1 km  =  x        (where x is the time taken to travel 1 km).

we simplify the equation by cross - multiplying the equation , so:

120  × x = 1 × 120  → 120x = 120  → x  = 120/120 → x = 1

So  the car covers 1km  in 1 minute

For 300 km the car will take 300 × 1 minute = 300 minutes

we convert minutes to hours by dividing by 60 → 300 / 60 = 5

Therefore the car will take 5 hours to cover 300 km.

Nata [24]

Answer: 16 rotations

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Shawn is coasting down a 500 cm long ramp on his inline skates. The wheels on his inline skates are 32 cm in circumference.

Length of ramp = 500 cm

Circumference of wheels = 32 cm

Formula :

Number of rotations = Length of ramp divided by Circumference of wheels

= 500 cm ÷ 32 cm

= 15.625 ≈ 16   [approx]

Therefore, each wheel makes 16 rotations while Shawn is coasting down the ramp.
