Answer:

(3,2)

Step-by-step explanation:

5x+2y= 19

4x - 3y = 6

I will use elimination

Multiply the first equation by 4

20x +8y = 76

Multiply the second equation by -5

-20x +15y = -30

Add them together to eliminate x

20x +8y = 76

-20x +15y = -30

---------------------------

       23y = 46

Divide by 23

23y/23 = 46/23

y =2

Now find x

5x+2y =19

Substitute y=2

5x+2(2) =19

5x+4 = 19

Subtract 4 from each side

5x +4-4 =19-4

5x= 15

Divide by 5

5x/5 = 15/5

x=3

The solution is

(3,2)

Answer:

D. (3,2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, eliminate a variable:

3(5x+2y = 19 )

2(4x-3y = 6)

Now, plug this value back into one of the equations to get y:

5(3)+2y = 19

15+2y = 19

-15         -15

2y = 4

/2     /2

y = 2

Use the function f(x) to answer the questions.

<u>Part A</u>

<u />-16x^2 + 60x+16=0\\\\4x^2 - 15x-4=0\\\\(4x+1)(x-4)=0\\\\x=-\frac{1}{4}, 4

<u>Part B</u>

The vertex of the graph will be a maximum because the leading coefficient is negative.

The x coordinate of the vertex is -\frac{60}{2(-16)}=\frac{15}{8}.

When x=15/8, f\left(\frac{15}{8} \right)=\frac{289}{4}.

So, the vertex has coordinates \left(\frac{15}{8}, \frac{289}{4} \right)

<u>Part C</u>

Plot the two x-intercepts and the vertex and then draw a curve in the shape of a parabola passing through them.

The graph is in the attached image.

Find a whole number x in x/113 so that the ratio is a good estimate for pi
NISA [10]
So the initial question is x / 113 = 3.14 (we're keeping it a smaller decimal for now)

What you should do first is multiply both sides by 113

Your answer should be x = 354.82

Round this up to x = 355. <-- This is why we only used 3.14 at the start

Now check your work:
x / 113 = ?
355 / 113 = 3.14159265358979... which essentially is pi
